2000 Winner Western Virginia Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics Voted Roanoke's Best Moving Company by readers of The Roanoker Magazine - 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Named 2004 Small Business of the Year (Business-to-Consumer Services) by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce Nominated for 2000 Small Business of the Year by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce Oversaw complete carpet re-installation project at the U.S. Forestry Division Office in Roanoke. Virginia Varsity planned and coordinated the project, which occurred over 11 days, involved 120 employees, 20, 000 square feet of office space and 10 departments. Chosen to move two departments of Hecht's at Valley View Mall to newly renovated space. The move involved more than 40 hours of labor, 35, 000 square feet and $4 million of merchandise. Virginia Varsity Transfer is proud to contribute to, support or serve the following: Roanoke County Schools, Roanoke City Schools, Roanoke Catholic School, Junior League of Roanoke Valley, Junior Achievement, St. John's Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Hurricane Relief, Tornado Relief, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, TRUST, The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, the Taubman Museum, Girls Scouts of Virginia Skyline 2005 Virginia Varsity Transfer & Self Storage drove more than 14, 000 lbs. of bottled water, food, clothing and other supplies to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in efforts to help support the Katrina victims. Virginia Varsity President John Lugar previously served on the Better Business Bureau of Western Virginia's board of directors and was president of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce's Backbone Club (volunteer fund-raising).
